Hi everyone! Thank you so much for everyone that made it to the wedding and everyone that has supported us through the years. We wouldn't be who we are today if it wasn't for all of you.
While we are on our travels we are going to be writing on a our travel blog, check it out!
Joey and I first were introduced by his little brother Zach at church. That was in 2003, my freshman year of college and his sophomore year. In February 2004 we started dating. Later that summer Joey moved to San Diego to live with his Dad. I moved to Carlsbad in September to be a nanny. I didn't stay at that job for long and eventually moved down to San Diego to go back to school and be closer to Joey and his family. We were both down in San Deigo for about 2 years. We had a great time hanging out together, going to Disneyland, and growing up. We became best friends in San Diego.
In 2006 I moved back up to Eugene to finish school at the University of Oregon. Unfortunately, Joey had to stay down in San Diego to finish at the design school he was going to. It was hard to be apart but we knew it would only be for a year.
By the time Joey moved back up to Oregon I was in my last year of college and back from a summer in Spain and he was a college graduated with a degree in multimedia design and aspirations to begin his own web design company. It was so good to be back in the same state. At this point Joey and i had been together for about 3 1/2 years.
In February of 2008 it was our 4 year anniversary. Joey surprised me with a trip! He picked me up from school and we started driving. Once we got onto I-5 South he handed me a sheet of paper with directions to San Francisco! We got there and the next day he took me shopping and we took a cable car down to the pier. We got down to the Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory which was very exciting. Keep in mind that this whole time I thought we were just celebrating our 4 years of love. After we ate Joey asked if I wanted to go down to the beach. So we walked down to this beautiful beach with a beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. We sat down and he told me to close my eyes. When I opened them he had handed me a notebook. Inside Joey had placed our entire relationship. Movie tickets to every movie we had ever been to, letters, notes, cards, etc. It was extensive and amazing. I got to the last page and it read, "and everything changes today..." I looked up and he was down on one knee with the most beautiful ring I had ever seen.
That leads us to the present. We are engaged and can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together and to celebrate that committment with all of our family and friends (all of you!) So, we hope to see you on September 27, 2008!!
